November 8th - 10th 2024

Sandown Raceway, Victoria

HISTORIC
SANDOWN

Equity One 32nd Historic Sandown - November 8, 9, 10 2024

This year’s Equity One Sandown Historics will attract a strong lineup of true Historic cars from the ‘20s to the ‘80s in a three day bonanza of great motor sport action. Sir Jack Brabham, founding patron of the VHRR, would be proud to see the Brabhams, Lotus’, Chevrons, Elfins and Lolas all there in force and battling it out in customary open wheel tradition.

The thundering Formula 5000s will also enjoy making their presence known with their ground shaking noise and performance. These 5-litre open wheelers thrilled Australian fans during the 1970s and featured in those epic battles known as the Tasman Series.

Sandown always attracts a strong interest from the smaller, but very nimble Formula Fords; a category that has been the nursery class for so many of the top Grand Prix drivers, and these exciting little open wheelers are always a feature of the program.

Touring car fans are in for a treat, and the ‘tin top’ action promises to be fast and furious in a series of racing and super sprints. Many of the great cars from the past, as well as the tribute cars, will be on hand to rekindle memories of the titanic battles seen at Sandown over the years. Minis, Holdens, Fords, Chryslers and Jaguars will all be competing, and many spectators and cars will be onhand to celebrate the memorable 60 years of Mustang.

Adding to the spectacle will be the huge displays from many Victorian club cars, involving more than 900 desirable vehicles. Their proud owners will have them on show at the concourse alongside the main grandstand, and at Red Hill on the Dandenong Road end of the circuit, for the public to enjoy.

Trade stands, food outlets and off-track displays are added bonuses, and unlike modern day motor sport, mixing with the cars and drivers makes Historic racing a truly memorable experience. Everything is conveniently located at Sandown Park, and there’s free access to the pits and the grandstand where excellent viewing of the trackside action can be enjoyed.

There’s something for everyone, young and old alike, at this year’s Equity One Sandown Historics. Come along and be part of it!
